Client Development Manager - Conference & Events Industry - Swindon

A prestigious conference and events company is looking for a driven field based Client Development Manager to join their business. This role would suit a strategic and astute sales professional from a hospitality, conferencing or travel background looking to further their career in business development with a forward thinking, open and supportive company.



Duties will include:



- Identification and development of new business from targeted clients

- Securing new business contracts and bookings

- The installation and encouragement of a sales culture within the operations teams and the company

- Responsibility for your own targets, maximising revenue and opportunities to achieve targets

- To drive and develop existing business and maximise all opportunities.

- To support with ongoing sales development of the company

- To ensure a high degree of client care is maintained

- Build client relationships through regular contact, visits and scrutiny of service

- Working closely with the Client Manager to ensure all accounts are serviced in adherence with SLA’s

- To build and maintain an up to date profile of key clients

- To create and drive the sales plan for key identified clients/accounts

- Work through the bid and tender process in conjunction with the Sales Director and attend presentations to pitch for new contracts

- Promotion and up-selling of all services wherever possible

- Work to instil a sales culture within the operational team including designing of training and ongoing development materials to ensure their success

- To support with the ongoing development of sales within the company by holding/hosting any relevant sales training or Sharing Knowledge Sessions as requested by the Directors

- Continuous work to maintain the company profile and image through local networking, trade exhibitions and industry

- To promote a professional image to all clients and suppliers

- To be involved and assist with any special projects, e.g. tenders



Skills required:



- Proven experience in business development and generation of revenue ideally within the hospitality/conferencing industry

- Ability to build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues

- Commercial focus

- An eye for new business and maximising opportunity with clients

- Experience of sales training and development would be advantageous

- Strong customer and sales focus

- Full, clean UK driving licence

- Flexibility to be on the road 4 days out of 5 with overnight stays as and when required
