Well I would like to have been enthusiastic about the weather or at least the economic market; however, wherever we turn at present we are bombarded with doom and gloom!

I can assure you that there is a silver lining to the cloud, companies are still recruiting, and we can report a positive upturn in a number of business sectors within the UK. In fact now is the time that businesses will be regrouping for the inevitable upturn in the market, finding quality staff to assist their organisations achieve those goals become even harder! Why would that be I hear you scream!

Due to the inevitable insecurity of some business sectors in the market, there is a natural increase of candidates who ‘surf’ for potential job opportunities. This increases the number of people who may apply for a post, compounding on the time required to assess the applicants. However, there is a growing tendency for candidates to 'explore' the market to see if the grass is greener. We have seen a growing number of companies been frustrated by having to repeat the recruitment process after been let down by the candidate they have offered.
